During 2009 - 2011, Högkvarteret was presented as a gallery, a performance space and a bar in Stockholm. The space was open six evenings a week, and presented countless numbers of shows and events . During 2011 - 2013, Högkvarteret functioned as a Curatorial Collaborative Collective, a space that moved to different spaces in order to explore the possibilities of encountering and collaborating. As a queer, feminist, and intersectional collective, Högkvarteret beared an inexhaustible interest in the in-betweens, the transcending and the contradictory. Högkvarteret created and participated in collective spatialities that evolved through eponymous practices, that challenge conceptions of the possible, the passable, the beautiful.
Högkvarteret was located at Nytorget in Stockholm. As a curatorial collective, Högkvarteret presented in various places, amongst them Malmö Konsthall, Silvershed New York, PitchWise Festival Sarajevo, Signal Malmö, Rönells Stockholm, Studio 44 Stockholm, Konsthall C Stockholm, Renseriet Stockholm, Platform Stockholm, Eggeby Gård, Detroit Gallery Stockholm, Tempo Filmfestival Stockholm.
